MEDICAL USE: Standard 61558-2-15
This part of IEC 61558 deals with the safety aspects of circuit - breakers for medical premises. This part is applicable to fixed, single-phase or three-phase, air-cooled (natural or forced) separating transformers, of a dry type, for supplying medical IT schemes for Group 2 medical premises designed for Be permanently connected to the fixed wiring and intended to form the secondary side IT scheme.
The windings may be coated or uncoated. The rated supply voltage does not exceed 1,000 V ac. The rated supply frequency and the internal operating frequency do not exceed 500 Hz. The rated power is not less than 0.5 kVA and does not exceed 10 kVA for single-phase and three-phase transformers.
This part applies to transformers which do not have a restriction of the rated power which is the subject of an agreement between the buyer and the manufacturer. The idle secondary voltage and the rated secondary voltage do not exceed 250 V ac for the single-phase or three-phase (phase-to-phase) transformer. This standard does not cover power supplies. This part shall not apply to external circuits and their components intended to be connected to the primary and secondary terminals of transformers.
The transformers covered by this part are used in applications where double insulation or reinforced insulation is required between the circuits by the installation rules or by the specification of the appliance.
